The Effects of Substance/Drug Abuse on the Aura

Dear Julia:

I'm dealing with an astral entity that is making me miserable. I've engaged in lots of behavior that could have attracted something like this. For example, I used to do methamphetamine and engage in astral sex. The drug facilitated this for me, and I would sometimes spend 12 hours straight engaging in this practice. I did this off and on for at least a couple of years. I always knew that overindulging in this way was foolish, but it felt so good that I kept doing it. I feel guilty about this now, though at the same time, there is a part of me that longs to do it all again. Given the lustful, debased nature of this experience, I'd like to put all of this behind me - it's like a dark spot on my soul. Now I have this astral entity plaguing me, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Last night it really revealed itself. I had a horrible day; everything was chaotic. Then last night it crawled down my back, onto my leg and butt, and it started shaking. I wonder if I'm losing my mind - if I only THINK that I'm dealing with an actual astral entity. Help!

Dear Lee:

Since you're capable of questioning your own sanity, you're probably NOT crazy; instead, I'd say you're highly psychically sensitive and need to make wiser, healthier choices in order to manifest a higher level of experience.

It is always foolish to act against our own conscience and inner guidance. It is also always risky to surrender control of our mental state to some outside agent such as a mind altering drug - this only makes sense. When we lose control of our mental state, we become vulnerable to harmful influence from earthbound astral entities, our own repressed fears and desires, and myriad other subtle energies we are surrounded by every moment of every day.

Further, repeated substance abuse can create severe damage to the aura. If instead of treating your body like a temple, you treat it like it's a crack house, then you will have a lot of cleaning up and repairing to do.

To make matters worse, drug/alcohol use not only weakens the aura and makes us vulnerable to negative entities, it also ATTRACTS astral addicts who want to live vicariously through us.

Wait - there's more. When we get drunk or high and then engage in sex, unless we have consciously cultivated a "pure" atmosphere, we'll attract astral entities who want to get off on the energy we're raising. Since we are energetically very open during sex, it's easy for astral entities to take up residence in our auras. This can happen whenever we are caught up in "lust," but especially when our psychic boundaries are fuzzy due to the effects of drugs or alcohol. So you're right: you've done plenty to get yourself into this mess, my friend!

Let's contrast the aura of a sober, clear-thinking individual with that of someone who is drunk or high. The aura of a healthy, sober person will be strong, clear, bright and unwavering. It will display a sense of balance and control. If some other person or entity sends negative energy toward someone who is sober, they will respond by pushing that energy away, striking back psychically, or strengthening the boundaries of their aura. (Unless they are highly psychic, they will do all of this on an instinctive, unconscious level).

When someone becomes intoxicated, their aura goes fuzzy and begins to wobble. There is a general impression of imbalance and a lack of control. Instead of responding effectively to energetic intrusions, they may do nothing or become fearful or paranoid. Often they will mistake that energy as part of themselves and thus become vulnerable to all sorts of thought forms, mental suggestions and the attachment of astral entities.

When someone develops the habit of abusing mind altering drugs, the aura may become damaged with holes and black spots. Imagine track marks on a junkie's arm or the marred lungs of smokers; something similar happens in the aura. This leaves the drug abuser with weak, vulnerable psychic boundaries, which are easy for astral entities to exploit.

To manifest a higher level of experience, you must strengthen your aura. You will achieve this by developing health and discipline on every level of your being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It will be easy to figure out what you should do if you simply remember that things that are good for you on one level of your being will be good for you on all levels of your being. Please note that your will power is ALL here, and with an unwavering, determined will, you can easily take control of your energy again.

Here are some things you might do to grow stronger and healthier on every level of your being. Please remember that the whole point is to develop greater personal mastery and discipline. If you give these efforts your all, you can very quickly reclaim your personal power.

*To strengthen yourself on a physical level, get plenty of rest; eat healthy, natural, high vibration foods; spend time in nature, especially in the sun; practice careful personal hygiene; do some form of exercise every day. (I highly recommend yoga in particular, as it will help you to balance and strengthen your aura.)

*To gain control of your astral body and emotional energy, don't succumb to base desires or emotions. Always listen to your conscience. Remember that negative astral entities feed off of emotions such as lust, fear, anger, jealousy, etc., and will try to evoke them. They will try to tempt you to do things you know you should not, and will try to fill your life with drama and chaos. Refuse to play their game. Counter fear with faith and purify your heart of negative emotions. A sense of humor can also quickly disarm entities who are trying to rile you up.

It will be much easier to gain control of your emotional world if you surround yourself with healthy, positive people and influences. Watch only uplifting shows and movies, read spiritual books, and listen to soothing sounds such as New Age or classical music. Also, keep your environment very light, clean and organized.

*To maintain mental clarity and control, avoid mind altering substances. Also, keep questioning your experiences, but trust your own senses and impressions. Astral entities love it when we doubt our own sanity; nothing gives them a greater foothold on our minds.

*To strengthen yourself on a spiritual level, get involved with a good church or other spiritual community. At a Spiritualist church, you may find mediums or healers who understand what you're going through and can support you in many ways. While no one else can heal you (you must heal yourself), you may greatly benefit from wise coaching. Also, pray! Ask for help from entities of love and light. You have guardian angels ready to help you, but they will not intercede unless you ASK.

Finally, send this entity love and compassion. Imagine it as a hungry, desperate wild animal that is just trying to survive. Since you are going to be "drying up" its food supply of debased energy, gently encourage it to move along to greener psychic pastures. Wish it well. This will turn up your inner light, and any shadows in your aura will naturally draw back. By raising your vibration, you will attract a higher level of energies and entities into your world.

Your highly psychic nature suggests that you are at a point in your spiritual evolution when you must learn how to purify your heart and mind and develop mastery over your base desires and emotions in order to live by higher spiritual principles. Because you are aware of the astral dimension, you must develop this inner discipline to consistently manifest a positive quality of experience on a psychic level.
