How can I get rid of a portal? Malicious spirits have made my bed a portal. I was trying to get rid of them by making my room a sacred space but there is a portal inside it. Can I make my body a sacred place too? Everything is being invaded. I pray, I hold a rosary, I tried the sacred space but nothing is working. Do you think I can close this portal to both spirits and living astral projectors?

Dear N.:

It's hard to conceptualize things like portals and other dimensions. It's my understanding that other worlds aren't somewhere else - they interpenetrate the same space/time but exist at a different frequency. This is like radio waves, which we can't see or hear with our physical ears but can detect with sensitive equipment. Further, through altered states of consciousness (shifts in our own vibration), we regularly visit other dimensions through dreams, visions, and out of body experiences.

Some places such as haunted houses or 'vortices' are already portals. Any place that is known for recurring 'paranormal' phenomena is probably a portal of some sort. People who research this sort of thing have noted that physical instruments may record all sorts of anomalies around portals/vortices, such as temperature fluctuations; high EMF readings; EVP recordings; and photographs of orbs, shadowy figures, and even swirling vortices that look like energy tornados - the very things parapsychologists associate with 'ghosts.'

If you picture fabric that is folded on top if itself with a spot that is worn thin or even torn in between, it's easy to imagine that some openings between dimensions are more complete than others. Where some are just thin, with others your change would fall right out of your pocket and onto the floor.

Thus not all portals produce the same phenomena. With some you may be able to mentally communicate with a certain frequency/dimension; with others shadowy energies and ethereal mists may appear; and with very strong portals, entities may be able to materialize physical objects as in physical mediumship. Living physical beings may even be able to travel to other dimensions (including ours) through worm holes. Further, just as we may stumble across a portal or vortex here, it's reasonable to assume that entities living in other dimensions could do the same and poke through to explore our world.

Just like a hole in your pocket would let candy wrappers and money fall out alike, there is no filter on these portals. However, like attracts like in the Universe, so if we are very afraid or angry, we tend to attract scary beings, and if we are full of divine light, we're more likely to attract loving spirits like angels.

There are things that may happen and things we can do that can open a portal. I believe that every time someone enters or leaves this world via birth or death, a portal temporarily forms between the physical and spirit world. When something traumatic happens, such as a violent murder, the energy of that trauma may tear the fabric of space/time and lead to what we call a haunting.

Further, when we begin to 'open up to the spirit realm' through things like channeling, astral projection, or working with a Ouiji board, we may wear away at the veil and create a thin spot or hole.

I have direct experience with this sort of thing. I do all my reading work in my office, and as a result, it has a wonderful spiritual atmosphere. When my son was a teenager and full of angst, he began to be plagued by subtle entities that he could hear whispering near him and see in his peripheral vision. These were not beings of love and light, and though they scared the heck out of him, they didn't physically harm him. My feeling was that they were beings from another dimension that found a way through to our dimension and were simply exploring, much like people who explore the astral via out of body experiences.

I then realized that there was a major standing portal in our house - the same one that I kept open in order to communicate with spirits and transcend space/time in my psychic reading work. In fact, once I psychically looked for it, I realized that in the back of my mind I had always known it was right next to me, to the left of my chair. Without knowing why, whenever praying to begin a reading, I would always turn my chair to the left, directly facing this portal. This was not a conscious choice. I now know that I was both tuning in to this portal and creating it - making it a bit stronger each time.

I also realized that while I knew how to control my own vibration in order to purposefully draw through only the highest and the best, my son's teenage angst had attracted random or lower entities. Since I maintain a very high vibration (beyond the range of lower entities), I had to purposefully scan the psychic atmosphere to perceive what he was experiencing.

The good news is that once I did this and we took charge of the situation together, the problem was quickly remedied. First I had to help him get recentered in his personal power through energy healing and deep trance work. Then while he was in deep trance, I had him communicate with these entities. He told anything and everything that was not of a loving, positive influence on him to be gone from his experience. We filled him with divine light and love and grounded him in empowering beliefs and energies. This was an intense, electric healing session, after which he had no more encounters.

I then saged and psychically cleared my entire house of all unwanted energies. I began in the area of the portal and went through the whole house, gently and lovingly telling any entities not of divine light to move along. I was totally congruent in my desire, like a laser of personal power - this is essential. This can become a battle of wills, so you have to be congruent, faithful, and full of divine light.

I then filled my house from top to bottom with divine love and called on my guides and angels to seal my house to any unwanted influences. I closed the portal for a couple of weeks, after which I meditated and communicated with my personal guides and asked that they help me mend this tear in the fabric of space/time. We created something like a zipper that I could open when doing reading work and close when finished.

All of this worked beautifully. I now have a standing agreement with the Universe that this portal is for purposeful, positive, healing work only. I still open it via a prayer before every reading, but now it's understood that this portal is only for drawing in divine guidance and connecting with particular spirits/entities.

We've not had any problems since. The two key elements here are to reclaim your personal power and raise your vibration as I helped my son do through the deep trance healing work. If you don't empower yourself first, then nothing you do will work or last for long. Similarly, once you are empowered, you can do as I've described or you can dance a silly jig and sing a little ditty about the portal closing: so long as you are congruent and focus your personal power, what you desire will be done. Since you're psychically sensitive, this is something you will want to be able to do forevermore.

I sense that you are young and inexperienced, so I recommend you get help with all of this from a local spiritual healer, medium or shaman - someone who knows what they are doing and can guide you in closing this portal and in growing into your own divine power.
