When Astral Encounters Enter the Physical Plane

Dear Julia:

I've been having paranormal experiences for about four years now. It started with an involuntary out of body experience. I kept having these experiences though I didn’t want to. Later, I got curious about OBEs and scared at the same time. One time I tried to have an out of body experience during the day. I got in bed and thought to myself, "Please help me leave my body." Then a male voice replied "I will" and I was sucked into another dimension, which totally shocked me. Later I received communications from many entities who told me things like "you have a message," "we have been looking for you" and "I want to have intercourse with you." I had these experiences for three years. Now I no longer have them, but an entity (or entities) sometimes comes to me. It lies down in bed with me, paralyzes me and holds me. Sometimes it acts in a sexual way. Sometimes it just holds me and talks to me. I try to feel it with my hands and sometimes I see part of it. Sometimes it feels non-human; sometimes I see a boy; sometimes a man. I pray for help from God, spirit guides, etc., and have tried commanding it to go into the light, but nothing is working. What are these entities, and how can I be rid of them?

D.

Dear D.:

I've read a number of accounts in which someone described leaving their body for the first time as the most terrifying thing they had ever experienced, where for others (like me) it was exciting and fascinating. Of course, much depends on the knowledge, beliefs, background and personal vibration of the person having the experience.

Most of what you describe is quite common. When going astral, many people sense the presence of other beings and hear them talking to and/or about them. Many also report receiving help with getting out of the body. That these experiences have crossed from the astral into the etheric (or perhaps even the physical) is less common, but astral travel does forge a trail between dimensions, and the more we travel that trail, the easier it becomes for us to use it to visit the astral and for beings from other dimensions to use it to visit this plane.

I have counseled many people who had experiences similar to yours, and most were simply caught in a chain reaction. They had a spontaneous out of body experience, and because it was new and strange to them, it freaked them out. This led to beliefs, fears and expectations that colored the next experiences, which turned into a never-ending cycle. By contrast, people who pursue astral projection with plenty of knowledge and positive expectations tend to align with a chain of positive experiences.

One of the most important things to keep in mind is that like attracts like, and it does so directly and immediately in the astral. I don't want to get into your personal business, but when we are sexually repressed or dissatisfied, our repressed energy tends to attract sexual astral experiences and/or entities in search of sexual energy.

During a memorable early out of body experience, I found myself floating in "space" near my house, engaged in blissful, erotic energy-sex with a number of invisible entities. While this was very pleasurable, it was certainly NOT something I was seeking or even knew to be possible. At that time in my life, I was unhappily mired in a passionless marriage, and I believe this is why I attracted that experience. The same sort of thing happened a few times after that, and always when I was sexually frustrated. It has never occurred since I met my current husband - let's just say that this is a much more fulfilling relationship!

My point is that intense sexual/life force energy will definitely attract its kind in the astral. This is why adolescents tend to have lots of paranormal experiences; their bodies are on fire with hormones, yet in most cultures their sexual and creative energy isn't given free expression. For entities looking for an energy fix, they're like big, glowing batteries. Similarly, people who are sexually unfulfilled can attract sexual beings and experiences in their dreams and while out of body. Most of these people aren't even aware that they are sexually repressed. I certainly didn't think of myself that way at that time; I figured since I was married with little kids, passion was something of the past!

I encourage you to examine the quality of your sex life and if you find it lacking, give yourself permission to pursue greater fulfillment. If there are any old wounds, issues or feelings that may prevent you from moving forward, seek healing through whatever form of therapy appeals to you. I have never heard of anyone who had a full, satisfying, healthy sex life being bothered by the sorts of experiences you describe, so this alone may put an end to this cycle of experience.

There may be other limiting beliefs or issues that need healing, so view your astral experiences as you might dream symbols – as signs or messages about your inner life. Then employ processes like hypnotherapy, guided meditation, and law of attraction exercises to program yourself to have the sorts of experiences you desire.

Once you've addressed any personal issues that need healing, if these phenomena continue, there are many things you can do to align with a higher level of experience. First, strengthen your aura and your will power. To gain control over interactions with astral beings, you must have a stronger will than they do. There are endless ways to do this. The more you gain control of your thoughts, feelings, and chi, the greater your control in metaphysical situations.

Next, put that strong will to good use by getting very clear and conscious about what you want to experience and create in your life. Most of us are creating almost everything we experience from an unconscious level. As we are "open" to whatever may wander into our lives, we have all sorts of experiences that leave us wondering, What in the world was that about?

Before you fall asleep each night, set a very clear intention of what you want to experience while you're sleeping, dreaming and out of the body. You might tell your subconscious mind that you'd like to meet up with a spirit guide, or ask for a healing experience that empowers you to be free of this troubling pattern. It's important to ask for this from a place of faith and positive expectation instead of fear, so fill your heart with your desire, imagine how it will feel when it has happened for you, and drift off with a sense of peace and anticipation.

When you wake up in the morning, set a very clear intention for what you would like to be, do and experience that day. You might visualize yourself with a beautiful bright force field around your aura and see yourself radiant with love and personal power. You might see yourself as the captain of your own ship, steering toward what you desire and away from what you don't. Find an image that works for you.

It would be wise to master astral projection in a conscious way instead of passively allowing these experiences to continue from a feeling of not being able to control what happens. There are excellent books on this subject available; I recommend beginning with those by Robert Bruce, Robert Monroe and Robert Peterson. By gaining more knowledge, developing your will/personal power, and raising your vibration, you will develop the ability to create what you want whether you're here in the physical or exploring other dimensions.
