I became interested in astral projection around 1990 when on several occasions, I experienced the sensation that I was peeling away from my body during deep meditation. My meditation was so deep, I had no conscious awareness of physical sensations.At this point I would feel my hands began to drift back and out of my physical hands, and my whole awareness begin to lift up and out of my body.

It was a very peaceful and sweet swelling sort of feeling, but it frightened me nevertheless. I would jerk my consciousness out of the deep meditation in a panic, and the feeling would end abruptly. My meditation teacher at the time told me that if it frightened me, I was not ready to leave my body. She said it was happening because my upper chakras (throat, third eye, and crown) were over-developed compared to my lower chakras, and that I needed to develop the lower chakras.

I then spent five years consciously strengthening the lower chakras through exercise, nutrition, energy work and spiritual studies and other practices. My chakras became more balanced, I became healthier, I had many mindblowing experiences of "magic," I developed my psychic abilities and natural mediumship abilities - the list goes on and on. It has been an amazing journey.

Somewhere along the line, early on, I realized I was ready to explore astral projection. As a result of this desire, I found Bob Peterson's great book on how to achieve out-of-body experiences. I practiced some of his exercises and was astral projecting in weeks (without fear!). I wrote to Bob, and we became friends. He has since written more books, which I have helped him to edit. I highly recommend his books on astral projection, which you can find at his website, robertpeterson.org.
